Ever since the invention of anti-biotic medicines, civilization has slowly lost touch with native medicine. Even in my younger days, I remember how my mother used to prepare simple home remedies for stomach ache, indigestion or cough and cold. Most of these anti-biotic medicines have some side-effects or other. Probably, you may want to think of living the natural way than opt for those canned foods, artificial nutrients etc. which only create further complications in the body.
1) Tulsi (Basil) – Eating three to four leaves of Tulsi (Indian Basil) in empty stomach every morning is considered very healthy for the system. It is a good prevention for most illnesses especially, cough and cold. Tulsi is also considered as a holy plant by Hindus. Every Indian religious ritual involves the use of Tulsi.
2) Turmeric – When suffering from cough and cold, just add a pinch of turmeric to a cup of hot milk and drink it before sleeping at night. Turmeric paste can be used for skin ailments and is very good for facial skin. Apply Turmeric paste on the face and keep it for about 15 minutes and wash. Turmeric is a good anti-inflammatory and can be used on cut wounds and bruises. For those women who want a natural hair remover, nothing can be better than this herb. It is also considered to have anti-arthritis qualities. Turmeric is also used in Indian marriages, festivals and rituals as it is considered to remove negative energies.
3) Alo Vera – Aloe Vera is considered to have many healing qualities. Drinking Alo juice on a regular basis will prevent all kinds of sicknesses. Application of Alo Vera paste by directly peeling off the skin on wounds, skin rashes and arthritic joints acts as a good cure.

A simple spoon of honey can cure sore throat, mixed with hot milk can relieve you from cough and cold, and if taken in empty stomach every morning with lukewarm water, it strengthens the immune system and enhances bowel movement. If you want to improve your singing skills, start taking two teaspoons of raw honey in the morning everyday. If one year old babies are given a tiny drop of honey in their mouth everyday, they pick up abilities of speech quicker than usual. It is a much healthier substitute for sugar.

7) Neem – Neem trees are very common in India and it almost grows around every household. Neem leaves are very bitter but very good for all kinds of stomach infections and also a very good cleanser of the blood. Neem leaves crushed into paste is very good for skin ailments and wounds.
Oil Pulling
Oil pulling has become a very famous remedy recently. This is an ancient Ayurvedic therapy from India which man has forgotten down the years. Two teaspoons of any edible oil is all you need. Every morning as soon as you wake up, before brushing your teeth, you need to take two teaspoons of edible oil like Gingelly oil (available mostly in India ), olive oil, sunflower oil or even mustard oil. Start rinsing your mouth without swallowing for ten minutes. There will be lather formation in the mouth and with time the oily sensation will cease as the oil gets diluted with the saliva. As soon as this happens it’s a sign enough to spit it out.
Oil pulling is known to cure almost every kind of disease like sinusitis, constipation, skin ailments, a good prevention for diabetes and cancer. People suffering from arthritis will find good relief in the joints. It’s a good remedy for dental problems. The overall digestive system is also taken care of. This is very good for memory and eyesight and the ENT . Oil pulling increases energy levels in the body and also cures insomnia. Blood pressure patients will find some relief if they practice oil pulling regularly.

Top-level comments on this article: (1 total)I've found this article very helpful. My son had suspected late onset group b strep as a 3 week old baby followed by bronchitis 2 months later. Due to his age and the serious nature of his illnesses we had no choice to allow his doctors to prescribe antibiotics. Because of this we are now looking to minimise anti-biotics in future, so it is fantastic to find great advice on natural anti-biotics.The issue is sometimes doctors prescribe medicines which are way too strong and harm the system. I think it's good enough to attend yoga therapy somewhere and slowly induce the above mentioned nature medicines.
