Today’s video sensation is from a Finnish high-jumper who created a lot of attention by clearing the bar which was placed at 1.84m above the ground. I watched it and couldn’t imagine if anybody could dare to clear that sort of height from standing position.

I always had a passion for sports and wanted to try the high jump, but looking at the iron bar in my school, it used to send me chills all over my body giving me images of my legs getting entangled somewhere in between and the bar finally falling over my shin hurting me bad. I certainly wanted to try it, but definitely couldn’t. I was scared and couldn't muster up the courage.

Jussi Viita is the hero who can actually clear 2.24m on a run up, just stood with his back facing the bar before he attempted the successful leap. The world record is currently held by Cuba’s Javier Sotomayor, who jumped a height of 2.45m which is approximately 8 ft. 0.46 inches.

Enjoy watching.
