2012 & The Fears Surrounding It

Ever since someone discovered that there was something as the 2012 theory written down by the Mayans there has been enough speculation that the earth is going to face a lot of turmoil in this year. Such predictions were not uncommon during the years of the Mayan civilization and also many other advanced civilizations like Mesopotamia, Sumerian, and the different Kingdoms of India etc. The Greeks had their own advanced ways of foretelling the future and so did the Tibetans and the Egyptians. Every culture had their oracle.
I recently spoke to the Nadi astrologer again and he said that it was written in the leaves thousands of years ago in ancient Tamil, that water will be folded in paper and rocks will fly. Today, water is sold in plastic packets, and rocks symbolise aeroplanes. Vedas predicted the birth of Jesus. You can find the video on YouTube.
Even if we go back to the epic, Ramayana, it was very well predicted even before the birth of Lord King Rama that he was incarnating to put an end to all the troubles created by King Ravana of Sri Lanka. Rishis had foreseen that and later events unfolded one after another when King Ravana abducted Sita and her husband Rama had to go and wage a war against his kingdom to bring her back.
Even before Krishna was born, it was foretold that he would be the eighth child born to the sister of evil King Kamsa of Mathura. Further, the rishi said that Krishna will be the one who will kill him. He did kill his uncle Kamsa once he grew up.
There were other predictions in the Mahabharata when the 100 brothers were born to the blind King Dhritarashtra and his Queen Gandhari of Gandhar (Kandahar in Afghanistan today) in the kingdom of Hastinapur. The minister Vidura requested the queen to kill her new born son immediately as he foresaw that this boy would bring a great calamity not only in their kingdom but it would also cost the whole of mankind. The mother out of love for her own child refused and finally there was a huge war which saw the death of millions. The battlefield of Kurukshetra was laden only with dead bodies all over. Twenty kingdoms overall participated in this war.
Even today the locals from this place say that the soil had turned so red due to the bloodshed that it took centuries for it to regain its natural colour. After the war the five brothers famously known as, the Pandavas visited Rishi Vaishampayana (seer) and asked him what the consequences of the new age would be. The present age known as Kaliyuga – the age of darkness had started then.
The rishi prophesied huge accounts of how man’s intellect will begin to degrade and morality would drop to its lowest. If we read this epic we can clearly realize that spiritual values were respected more and man was of “higher thinking” then, than what we are now. In other words, men and women had more faith in spiritualism and God and at the same time they did not neglect science of life and creation. The great rishi clearly said that as the age of darkness dawns upon us, man will begin to question the existence of God.
Further, he also said that man will definitely begin to lose faith in God and increase his attachment for wealth, lust and other pleasures of earthly life. He said there will be no honesty in thought, action and words. Women will begin to betray their partners and so would men do the same. Housewives will indulge in the profession of prostitution.
Man will become so evil that birds, animals and other creatures will fear him and hide into the forest. We can already find enough evidence from this when animals don’t trust human beings anymore. Elephants just run down people’s huts who, live near the forest. Monkeys come in huge numbers and enter people’s homes and make a mess. They are also feeling the betrayal from mankind as their space has been confiscated more than necessary. I had enough of this experience with monkeys in my home. One day I would forget to close the balcony, that’s it - they would all enter the kitchen and pick fruits and vegetables leave. In fact, one monkey was also interested in my skin cream. :-) If I lock the door, they would get angry and purposely open the tap on the sink and leave.
If we see, most of what the rishi said has come true. Atheism and agnosticism has increased, man is not respecting nature anymore. Poisonous gas emissions, pollutants run down into the river and mass killing of whales in Netherlands, poaching of animals in India, China and Africa and much more. The strange part was, he said many will come in the name of God and swindle money. Man is making money in the name of religion. Even monks will not follow the rules of celibacy and live like householders.
Monks are not supposed to even touch money and are supposed to live on begging. They are not supposed sleep on a cushion mattress – a sign of renunciation of all comforts. They even are not supposed to touch women, but today they go around having sex in the name of offering them “blessings from God”. Monks are more than happy to sit for hours together to have a nice time talking to women, some of them travel by a chevrolet and possess one of the most expensive cell phones. - Renunciation?
Coming back to the title of 2012 and the fears associated with it. Yes, it was predicted in the scriptures that the earth will be washed over completely with river floods, tsunamis and earthquakes etc. One and a half years back someone asked me if I believed 2012 was true. I said the “idea” of 2012 was crap, but what has to happen will happen and we will be able to handle it only when we face it. I called it crap simply because the concerned person was egoistic enough about his clairvoyance and moreover he was posing himself as a "World Healer" who was going to bring an eminent change by saving people - had watched too much of that movie "2012". Note: Should a clairvoyant like me predict such an event, I would only pray that it should never come true, rather wait for it to come true to prove the accuracy of my clairvoyance. There is a huge difference!
We certainly cannot “imagine” how we are going to handle a situation like an earthquake until our roof top falls on our head. We can go to the hospital only after we develop a bone fracture, not go and sit there much ahead of time - thinking that in “2012” we are going to develop a fracture or even die.
Is 2012 going to be another year or a year of major events? There has been too much speculation about it and one person tweeted me saying, “21st May, 2011 is Judgment Day”. I replied back, “21st May, 2011 is not Judgment Day, it’s “climate change”.
Fears are bound to increase among the people after what we have witnessed in Japan today. These are all signs from nature that we have to start getting spiritual, caring for one another, and above all, have respect for Mother Nature. Science doesn’t even believe that the river, ocean, mountains and rocks etc, have life. They do, but we don’t realize. We don’t even realize how precious a tree is. The tree is definitely our mother. Pagans and Hindus have worshipped trees for ages; have worshiped the ocean, the river, mountains and whole of nature - and why?
The reason was to respect them as life energy. If we all have been created from the same 5 elements, so have all of these. What exists in our bodies exists in them too. This knowledge was lost or probably in spite of knowing that nature is precious the big powers continued to rape Mother Earth to fulfil their greed.
This is the time to go back to our roots instead of cutting them off with our arrogance of “ignorance”. This will be the time to get back together in action and start realizing the spiritualism in our lives and developing a more humane and selfless society. This is the time to begin to open up our natural resources and share them equally. This is the time to start respecting nature and stop polluting it. This is the time to plant more trees, tending to animals, give them a good space to live. 2012 is just another year which shall pass with good and bad events.
When the bad happens, stick together and when good happens, share the joy together!

Useful article DM, the more such observations as yours the better we can understand where we the human race took the wrong turning, the wrong road.
As you so clearly point out we are a part of and not separate from all of creation and it is this dangerous ignorance that is creating the dangerous imbalances that we are creating.
The sad truth is that articles such as yours are more likely to be read by the people already open to the truths you describe. How do we reach out to the movers and shakers of the world? I personally have no clue!

Mysticism is a part of every culture and so did even Christ foresee many events like Krishna, and the other great rishis of India, and many others until now.
*** Christ birth can not be proven. In fact, it seems more and more likely the story of Christ was plagerized from such legends as Horus and Mithra. That too can be found on YouTube.
Recently, there was a convention on world religions and peace, held by the Sathya Sai Organisation where eminent scholars from all the different faiths presented a talk which was based upon peace and co-existence.

*** A bit of a stretch. Plastic and paper are two different materials, and planes are not made from rocks.

*** Keep in mind that these are stories and myths. When Shakespeare wrote, "And Hamelet said, such and such." It is not Hamlet saying it, it was Shakespeare himself. He is the true speaker and mind of the character. People read old passages and characters as though they are all literal. These legends have authors too.

*** Thre is no proof in this statement. Maybe the majority of people behaved better then because they feared punishment or death, but not because of spiritual values. None of us know what's truly in the hearts and minds of others until a society allows it's citizens freedom of expression. And it is not all bad. 55 years ago Elvis wasn't allowed to be seen on TV from the waist up because of Christian values. We now see the absurdity in that.

*** Those predictions can be found since the beginning of writing. I can predict floods, earthquakes, and tsunamis. I will see more before I die, and they will happen long after I am gone. They are a fixture of nature.

Thank you for taking interest, Kenny. I am not focusing only on prophets making negative predictions. I haven't asked anybody to believe what "I" say. As per your statement regarding Elvis, spiritual values started degrading more than 2000 years back and not now. Please read into the history of other civilizations too, and you will get to know how spiritual man was. Pagans, Norwegians, Greeks were all more spiritual and philosophical in their approach to life.
Mahabharata did happen and the island Dwaraka is under the sea even today, that is where Krishna ruled. Paper and rock was just symbolically written. Even nostradamus used birds as a term for planes. Birds fly on their own, planes need pilots, so probably he saw a "vulture attack" on WTC?
Mountains, rivers, oceans having life? - They do have life only if you learn to see the spirit from which they were created. As per Elvis not being allowed for whatever reasons, religious bigotry had set in, and the rishi's prediction has come true. Blind-faith and misinterpretation of scriptures has come already. You think nature is less violent now? This is just the beginning as there is more to come, Kenny.
Being spiritual is not about reading the bible, it is about being nice to one another, respectful towards nature. Early man already knew how to respect nature, and yes, they did not go hunting hoards of animlas for wealth, killing whales and poaching tigers and lions. It will take a huge discussion to explain the knowledge and proof you are seeking. I can say that there are many places in India where people even today talk about Christ having visited their temples and caves. There is another story that Christ had been to India and that illustrates the lost 14 years where there is no account of him in the Bible. When this story came up, then people made it up again saying he did nothing but just was there in Jerusalem working as a carpenter.
How many people are realizing how precious the tree is, Kenny? The electricity board which sends its men to cut the trees down, the ruling government which is always busy constructing new flyovers over the city, and the real estate mafia? The whole world is so focused on increasing the reservoir of money, you seem to speak as if you are the only "one" who lives in the whole world. If you can think for yourself, good enough, then it doesn't apply to you. It applies to someone else.
I am not spreading a cult over here, or asking anybody to believe. I am just presenting my views, and if you feel uncomfortable, then good enough, create your own path. You have enough liberty and freedom to carve your niche and 'talk a long walk down the road to see what lies ahead. Nobody needs to follow anybody, but what they need is just learn or decide what is moral and right, and follow that as long as it doesn't hurt anybody else, or doesn't come in the way of other people's progress. I will not write anymore on this, and trust me, I do not take any of this personal. It's just that I have had similar arguments before, and sometimes repetition can leave me with a bad taste.
As I said, I can see that your heart is the right place, and that's what really matters. Mine is too, and I could care less about religion, prophets, and Gods! I wish the world would back off for a while with their beliefs, and give the rest of us a little space once in a while.
