A new dawn awaits India - Rabindranath Tagore

WHERE the mind is without fear and the head is held high
Where knowledge is free
Where the world has not been broken up into fragments
By narrow domestic walls
Where words come out from the depth of truth
Where tireless striving stretches its arms towards perfection
Where the clear stream of reason has not lost its way
Into the dreary desert sand of dead habit
Where the mind is led forward by thee
Into ever-widening thought and action
Into that heaven of freedom, my Father, let my country awake.

Rabindranath Tagore - a great novelist, poet, musician, painter and saint. He started the famous Shanti Niketan – a school where children would not be locked up in classrooms but will be educated to communicate with nature, education was not supposed to be confined within the four walls, but rather be free as the air which changes directions and doesn’t lose its identity. He won the Nobel Prize for literature for his renowned work 'Gitanjali'.

'India against corruption' introduced me to this long forgotten poem and continues to fight against corruption by uniting Indians not only from India, but also, from all over the world. These photos are a contribution from every single Indian who has participated in this war against corruption. Thanks to 'India Against Corruption' and to every Indian.

The words of the poem strike an immortal chord and continue to be an inspiration for many of us and finally, the common citizen seems to be slowly waking up to the reality that has been hitting harder than ever at their face. There have been at least seven scams in this session of the parliament and the government has managed to very conveniently brush it aside and prove themselves, innocent. The pot of bad karma did fill up to its brim and I bring you the consequences of the past days in more pictures. They speak louder than my words.

Absolutely, Jennifer. Even I was touched the initial moments when I saw support pour in from everywhere. It was like as if Anna struck a match stick and the whole nation was set ablaze. Bangalore saw 8,000 people on the streets. Thank you. :-)
